SUMMARY:Séminaire des jeunes : Judith Marquardt (LMV/Institut Fourier) : Degenerations of families of bands and strings for gentle algebras
DESCRIPTION:Let A be a gentle algebra. It is given by a quiver (directed graph) and 0-relations (non-admissible directed paths). The indecomposable modules of A are determined by the combinatorics of undirected walks on the quiver. So every module admits a diagramme\, a family of walks describing it.\nWe consider the variety of modules of a certain dimension. It admits a group action such that the orbits are the isomorphism classes. We want to consider the union of these orbits based on the underlying diagrammes. We show that they are completely described by the dimensions of certain homomorphism spaces.\nClosing the orbits allows us to look at the partial order given by inclusion. This relation is called degeneration. We show that some of them are induced by the so called kissing of string and band diagrammes.

SUMMARY:Séminaire des jeunes : Vladimir Boskovic (IPhT Paris-Saclay) : The non-bipartite dimer model
DESCRIPTION:Abstract: The dimer model is a statistical mechanics model that studies random perfect matchings on graphs. It was introduced in the 1960s\, when the partition functions and correlations were exactly computed by Kasteleyn\, Temperley\, and Fisher. Over the past few decades\, significant progress has been made in the bipartite case. In this talk\, I will characterize the Newton polygons associated with the characteristic polynomials arising from the dimer model of certain families of non-bipartite graphs. I will also introduce some new local moves on non-bipartite graphs that preserve the dimer partition function. Finally\, I will talk about recent results regarding the enumeration of perfect matchings on some 3-regular graphs.
